First Aid Refresher Training

First Aid Refresher course, First Aid Refresher Training

Do you need to do a First Aid Refresher Course? Is your certificate 2 years old?

Our 1-day First Aid refresher course is highly interactive with each theory session being followed by demonstration, practical tasks (including AED DVD for unit 4) and assessment of individual skills. First Aid Refresher training will be delivered on a ratio of 1 mannequin and 1 training AED for every 4 learners as stated in the new standard. All participants receive a comprehensive first aid and CFR manual.

HSA Update:

The HSA has agreed that dual recognition of QQI and PHECC First Aid Response will continue for a further period of 4 months, up to the 30th April 2018. Thereafter the HSA will only recognise PHECC First Aid Response. This means that the new PHECC courses will now be live from the 1st of May 2018 and the First Aid Refresher Courses will change to a 2-day programme.

Who should attend a First Aid Refresher course?

Any qualified QQI Occupational First Aider that needs to be recertified within the 2 year period as per HSA guidelines.

As of January 2012, QQI no longer issue separate certificates for First Aid Refresher courses. Participants will instead receive The Cpl Institute (TCI) Certificate.  This certificate is still valid and meets the requirements of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005, General Application Regulations 2007 and the Occupational First Aid Assessment Agent and is in accordance with QQI Quality Assurance standards, of which The Cpl Institute is an accredited provider. This 1 day Quality & Qualifications Ireland (QQI) Occupational First Aid level 5 Component certificate course covers all the essential aspects of Occupational First Aid as outlined in Module D20188 and was introduced on 1st September 2008.

First Aid Refresher training courses are essential every two years for certified First Aiders to keep up with developments in First Aid practice, and to refresh skills that may be only intermittently used.
